Mumbai : “It is our duty to register a case based on Rhea Chakraborty’s complaint against Sushant Singh Rajput’s two sisters Priyanka and Meetu in connection with the death of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput,” Mumbai Police said in an affidavit filed in a court here on Monday.

The CBI has registered a case against Sushant’s friend Rhea for inciting Sushant to commit suicide. On September 7, Rhea lodged a case against Sushant’s sister Priyanka and Meetu with the Mumbai Police. According to her complaint, the duo had given Sushant a prescription for drugs banned under the NDPS Act from doctors at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi. Both then filed a petition in the High Court seeking quashing of the case against them.

However, the CBI said the allegations against Sushant’s sisters were not factual and that Rhea’s allegations were fabricated. So, the Mumbai Police has rejected the allegations made by the sisters opposing the petition filed by Sushant’s sisters. “We are not tarnishing the image of them or the deceased and are not obstructing the CBI’s investigation,” the Mumbai police said in an affidavit.

Also, actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli have been issued a re-investigation notice on Tuesday. Against both of these, Bandra police have registered a case in connection with a tweet that created a religious rift. They have been asked to report to the police station two days before Diwali. Sources said that a new notice has been sent to both of them.
