Toy train service on Kalka-Shimla track resumes after seven months from today

Shimla : The toy train which was halted due to Covid19 lockdown is once again going to resume its service on the Kalka-Shimla railway track. The Kalka-Shimla Express special train will reach Shimla via Kalka on the Kalka-Shimla Heritage Track from Wednesday after a gap of about seven months. The express train (04515) will depart from Kalka-Shimla up Kalka at 12:10 pm and reach Shimla at 5:20 pm.

On Thursday, this train will depart from Shimla-Kalka Down (04516) Shimla at 10:40 AM, which will reach Kalka at 4:10 PM. Railways have decided to operate this special train in view of the festival season from October 20 to November 30.

The Kalka-Shimla Express special train will reach Shimla with seven coaches including two luxury coaches. The train will have 3 coaches of CZ category, one coach of CZR category, one coach of GS category, and 2 coaches of FCZ category.

The Kalka-Shimla Express special train is being started on the Kalka-Shimla Heritage Track from Wednesday. Preparations have been completed for this. – Gokul Singh, Station Superintendent, Kalka Railway Station.

According to the notification issued by the railway, after leaving Kalka and reaching Shimla, the toy train will stop at some stations including Dharampur, Kumar Hatti, Barog, Solan, Salogra, Kandaghat, Soghi, Tara Devi, Jutog, Summer Hill and will reach Shimla.

As per the notification issued by the railway, this train will leave from Kalka railway station for Shimla at 12:10 pm and reach Shimla at 5:20 pm. The train running from Shimla will leave from Shimla at 10:40 in the morning and will reach Kalka railway station at 4:10 in the evening.
