UNLOCK 5.0 : Permission to open museum, art gallery from Tuesday

New Delhi : Museums, art galleries and exhibitions have been allowed by the Union Ministry of Culture on Thursday under Unlock 5.0. Exhibitions, museums, art galleries will be open from November 10 (Tuesday). For this, the Ministry has also announced ‘Standard Operating Procedure’ (SOP).

Rules for participating in exhibitions
The fifth phase of the unlock has allowed for the exhibitions across the country. However, it will be mandatory to provide thermal screening facilities near the entrance. It will be mandatory for everyone who comes here to wear a mask. Also sanitizer has to be used time-to-time. Exhibition ticket sales will have to be done online. Adherence to social distance will be mandatory for all. The entire premises will need to be sanitized and the process will be carried out daily.

However, museums and art galleries in the containment zone will not be opened. No exhibitions of any kind will be held in the containment zone. The state government and the Union Territories will be able to take decisions in this regard, including security measures, taking into account the situation of Covid 19.

Notably, all museums, art exhibitions and other exhibitions across the country were banned since March in the wake of the Coronavirus infection. This had an impact on museums and art exhibitions across the country. But now things seem to be slowly returning to normal. Therefore, the Ministry has given relief to this sector by issuing guidelines.
