Pune: Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta has said that the Cyber Crime Cell of Pune Police will be restructured soon. Also, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for specialised investigation into cyber crimes of various nature are being finalised, the top cop told ‘Deccan Express’.
“The cyber crime cell will be restructured under different heads such as Bank Frauds, ATM Cloning, etc. Five such divisions will be formed. These divisions will be headed by a Senior Police Inspector rank officer. Also, a SOP for specialised investigations into these crimes is being designed. The SOP formulation is in the last stage,” informed Police Commissioner Gupta.
CP Amitabh Gupta visited office of Deccan Express on Friday. During the interaction with team Deccan Express, CP Gupta informed about the restructuring of several departments within Pune Police Commissionerate.
Gupta said, “The Crime Branch and Cyber Crime Cell is being restructured. The functioning of these departments will be simplified. All officers and personnel have also accepted these changes positively and wholeheartedly. This has helped us take effective action and reduce the crime rate in the city.”
