Babri Masjid Demolition : CBI Special Court Verdict on September 30 after 27 years

New Delhi: After 27 years, the CBI Special Court will give its verdict on September 30 in the Babri Masjid Demolition Case in December 1992 happened in Ayodhya. Former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani, former Governor  Kalyan Singh, BJP leader Vinay Katiyar, former CM of Madhya Pradesh Uma Bharti were accused in this case. The CBI had filed a charge sheet against 49 accused in this case, out of which 17 have died.

The verbal debate on the case has been completed in the CBI Special Court. The Special Court judge SurendraKumar Yadav will give the judgement on September 30.

The disputed Babri Masjid was demolished on 6 December 1992.

On December 6, 1992, a total of 49 FIRs were registered in connection with the demolition of the disputed structure. One FIR was lodged at the Ram Janmabhoomi police station in Faizabad by SO Priyavanda Nath Shukla and the other SI Ganga Prasad Tiwari. The remaining 47 FIRs were also filed by different journalists and photographers on different dates. On October 5, 1993, the CBI filed a charge sheet against 49 accused in the case after investigation. Of these, 17 have died during the trial.

Earlier on Tuesday, senior advocate Mridul Rakesh personally appeared before the court and completed thel arguments, while senior counsel IB Singh gave an argument on behalf of his client RN Srivastava through video conferencing. . On the other hand, advocate Mahipal Ahluwalia from Delhi also gave a verbal argument on behalf of senior BJP leaders LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi through videoconferencing. Advocates Vimal Kumar Srivastava, Abhishek Ranjan and KK Mishra were also present in the court. On behalf of CBI, lawyer P Chakraborty, Lalit Kumar Singh and RK Yadav made a verbal argument.
