by pranjalipargaonkar
Kolkata: West Bengal is gearing up for the upcoming assembly election in May 2021. And there has been a lot of speculation about Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, to come into politics and become a part of the BJP. The Trinamool Congress has now reacted to these speculations; TMC MP Saugata Roy says that if Sourav takes such a decision, he will be very sad.
Sougat Roy said that Sourav Ganguly is an icon for all Bengalis, I will not be happy if he enters politics. He was the only cricket captain from Bengal, also famous because of the TV show. He has no background in politics, so he will not be able to survive here.
The TMC MP  also said that Sourav Ganguly does not know about the problems of the country and the poor, nor does he know about the problems of poverty and laborers. Taking a dig at the BJP, Saugata Roy said that the BJP has no candidate for the post of Chief Minister which is why these things are being spread. Right now it is being said by the BJP to jump into the elections in Bengal with no face. But for a long time, it has been speculated that Sourav Ganguly could be the Chief Ministerial candidate from the BJP. However, there is no confirmation of this.
Recently, when Union Home Minister Amit Shah was in Bengal, he was also questioned about this. But Amit Shah did not reply to this and said that no such thing has happened so far, whenever a decision is made, the information will be given. Sourav Ganguly himself has often dismissed speculation about his involvement in politics. Let us know that elections are to be held in Bengal in May 2021, in such a situation the war between TMC and BJP is going on.
