Pune: Global Teacher Award winner Ranjitsinh Disale has said that teachers need to change over time. “In the past, technology was used to teach or used as needed. However, the use of technology in teaching has become an integral part of the corona( Ranjitsinh Disale) crisis. The realization of this came to all of us during the pandemic. If the teaching profession is to get good recognition in the country, then teachers need to have information technology (IT) and vocational training. For this, the Central and State Governments need to take initiative and conduct training in this regard. It is essential to develop the necessary skills in teaching among teachers, based on which we will have to move forward,” Disale has stated.
Answering a question about parents’ apathy towards municipal schools or Zilla Parishad schools, Disale says, “Parents primarily look at buildings and amenities when entering school. However, many important issues like who and how the teachers are teaching, whether quality education is imparted there, whether the teacher is trained are neglected. This scenario has been changing for the last five-six years, which is a good thing. In view of the rising fees and standards of private schools, some parents have enrolled their children in Zilla Parishad schools. And I will try to increase it further.”
Appealing to those who want to take up the teaching profession and students, Disale said, “Teachers educate students and shape the future of the country through them. There are still plenty of opportunities to work in the education sector. Therefore, the youth should come forward to shape their careers as good teachers. There is a lot of work to be done in the field of education. Students who are currently in such a situation should decide to enter this profession and try to become a good teacher.”
