Obituary : Balasubramaniam sang over 40000 songs, won the National Award 6 times

New Delhi: SP Balasubramanian passed away today, he was a well known name in the music industry. SP Bala gave his voice from Kamal Haasan of South Industry to Salman Khan of Bollywood. He earned himself a name by singing a playback for Salman Khan. Balasubramaniam was not only a singer but also a music director, actor and dubbing artist.

Balasubramanian, started his singing career in the 60s, has sung many songs so far and has made a place in the hearts of fans. SP himself does not know how many songs he has sung. However, it is believed that this number is close to 40000, which is a record in itself. It has also been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. He has sung these 40000 songs in about 16 languages.

Telugu film career started

In the beginning of his career, he did playback singing for the Telugu film Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna. After this, he started working in different languages ​​and industry. He was also honored with awards for his work. Balasubramanian has received National Film Awards for playback singing six times. He has received all these awards for singing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. Apart from this, he has also been awarded the Bollywood Filmfare Award. The NTR National Award has also been received for its contribution to Indian cinema. The list of his awards is very long.

Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, 6 National Film Awards, hundreds of state level awards, Balasubramaniam used to record 19 songs and sometimes 16 songs in a single day. For South India musician Upendra Kumar, he made a record of recording 21 songs in just twelve hours. No one has broken this record till date. SP once said that it has happened many times that I had to record 15 to 20 songs for Anand Milind in a single day.
