Rajgurunagar: A huge traffic jam was reported after a truck stopped working midway on Khed Ghat on the Pune-Nashik highway on Thursday (December 10) in the morning (Pune Nashik highway)for four hours. The vehicles queued up to a 2 km stretch on the Khed ghat for hours.

The traffic jam started at 8 am when the truck stopped functioning on the ghat on the Manchar side. Despite seven to eight policemen regulating traffic in the ghat, traffic congestion still continued. Passengers and motorists were literally annoyed by the congestion on both sides of the ghat. After much effort, the police managed to remove the truck at around 12 noon, and traffic was cleared.

If any vehicles are stopped in the ghat, there is a traffic jam. If there are any events, there is a traffic jam.

Now the bypass road is in the final stages, but work is in progress at a slower pace. Passengers are demanding that one side of the new ghat be started.

Satish Gurav, Inspector at Khed Police said, “Work is underway to blow up a mine in the new ghat. So we cannot take the risk of starting the new ghat.”
