Pune: Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar presented the Rs 7650 crore draft budget for FY 2021-22, higher by Rs 1421 crore as compared with the draft budget for FY 2020-21 which was Rs 6229 crore.

Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Standing Committee Chairman Hemant Rasane, PMC Leader of House Ganesh Bidkar and other officials and corporators were present during the budget presentation program.

Vikram Kumar said, “The Pune Municipal Corporation expects revenue of Rs 2356 crore from property tax collection, Rs 2000 crore from GST collection, Rs 980 crore from building permissions and Rs 500 crore from water tax collection.”

“Developing infrastructure and roads within the city will be the key focus area for the civic body during the next year,” he added.

The PMC Standing Committee had last year presented a budget of Rs 7390 crore for FY 2020-21. This year, the civic administration has presented a draft budget of Rs 7650 crore and hence it needs to be seen what the standing committee will present this year.
