Coronavirus : Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad tests positive for Covid-19

Mumbai: Varsha Gaikwad, State School Education Minister has tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. Gaikwad took to Twitter and tweeted about her test report status and her health condition.

The four time Dharavi MLA informed her constituents that she is doing well and also requested people who have come in her contact for past few days to get themselves tested for the virus and take the necessary precautions.

In her tweet, Gaikwad says, “During the course of my check-up today, I have tested positive for the coronavirus. I am at present doing well with the blessings and good wishes of all. I request everyone who has come in my contact to be careful and follow protocol. Stay safe. Take care.”

Earlier, many MLAs and other prominent ministers were diagnosed with Covid-19 disease. These ministers include Dhananjay Munde, Jitendra Awhad, Abdul Sattar and Aslam Shaikh. They have recovered from the disease and resumed their work. Recently, leaders such as Bacchu Kadu, Nitin Raut, Vishwajeet Kadam and Sunil Kedar were also tested positives for Covid-19.

Maharashtra has reported 18,390 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in the state has now reached 12,42,770. The recovery rate in the state is 75.36 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.69 per cent.
