Dubai: The captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had a bad day first loosing the match against Kings XI Punjab and then after breaking the IPL code of conduct in maintaining the minimum over rate. Virat Kohli is fined with Rs. 12 lakh as it was the first offense of the season under IPL’s code of conduct.
Virat Kohli showed his worst performance ever as he dropped two important catches of Kings XI Punjab Captain KL. Rahul who scored unbeaten 132 runs on Thursday at the Dubai International Stadium. When Virat Kohli came to bat, he was dismissed by Sheldon Cottrell for just 1 run. RCB were dismissed for 109 in 17 overs. RCB eventually lost the match by a big margin of 97 runs.
The total match for Kohli was a bad news as it has to pay fine of 12 lakh as a first offense of the season under IPL’s code of conduct, which related to minimum over-rate offenses.
He dropped KL Rahul catch- once in the 17th over when he was batting at a score of 83 and then in the 18th over when he was at 89, two drops proved costly later.
Virat taking the responsibility said, “I have to stand up and bear the brunt of it, not the best day in the my career, two of KL’s crucial occasions when he was set and later spent 35-40 runs. Maybe if we would have stopped them at 180 then we would have not come under pressure for chasing the runs. We know where we have gone wrong and I have to put my hands up and do better next time”.
