PM Narendra Modi released Dr Balasaheb Vikhe Patil autobiography

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday via video conferencing released the autobiography of former Union Minister Dr Balasaheb Vikhe Patil.  The Pravara Rural Education Society was also renamed as ‘Loknete Dr Balasaheb Vikhe Patil Pravara Rural Education Society’ by PM.

Dr Balasaheb Vikhe Patil autobiography is titled as ‘Deh Vechwa Karani,’ means ‘dedicating one’s life for a noble cause.’ Dr. Patil was a Member of Lok Sabha for multiple terms and died in 2016 at the age of 84.

While addressing the event via video conferencing, the Prime Minister said. “The autobiography of Dr Balasaheb Vikhe Patil may have been released today, but the stories of his life will be found in every region of Maharashtra. I have witnessed Balasaheb Vikhe Patil closely how he had dedicated his life to the development of Maharashtra. I am very grateful to Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, his family and all my colleagues in Ahmednagar, who invited me to join this occasion.”

The virtual event was also attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Ahmednagar MP Dr Sujay Vikhe Patil, Officials of Pravara Medical Trust, and Pravara Sugar Factory.  Pravara Rural Education Society was established in 1964 at Loni in Ahmednagar district, with the aim to provide a world-class education to the rural masses and empower the girl child.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Swami Yojana’ scheme through video conferencing. Under this scheme, property cards will be divided into physical property cards. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) described it as a historic step for rural India. After the launch of this scheme, people of rural areas will be able to use their property as a financial asset to avail any loan or financial benefits. This scheme will help in reducing legal disputes of land, prove to be a ownership entitlement plan. It will enable around one lakh property holders to download their property cards through the SMS link delivered on their mobile phones, according to a statement by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
