Varanasi: Flight Lieutenant Shivangi Singh has joined the squadron Golden Arrow of the country’s most powerful fighter plane Rafael as the only woman and the first woman pilot. After Shivangi Singh qualified for a month of technical training, she is now part of Rafael’s first squadron.
Shivangi’s father revealed this information after she spoke with him two days back. He said that he is proud of his daughter’s achievement. “Shivangi is also an example for other daughters of the country, who want to give wings to their spirits,” he commented.
This is not the first time that this Varanasi girl has created history. She also made history in 2017 when she joined five women pilots flying the fighter plane in the Indian Air Force. Now after three years, another achievement has been added to her name.
Shivangi Singh’s father Kumareshwar Singh has a business of tours and travels. Shivangi Singh, a resident of Phulwaria village in the city, has wanted to fly in the sky since childhood. Her mother Seema Singh said that she was naughty since childhood and wanted to fly like birds.
Shivangi flies Air Force fighter aircraft ‘MiG-21 Bison’. She was undergoing technical training in Ambala for Rafael.
