Mumbai: Deepika was issued summons as some WhatsApp conversations purportedly discussing banned drugs are being probed by the agency.
After the WhatsApp Chats were viral, many big names surfaced in drug angle case. In this regards, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) issued summons to 7 including Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor. Deepika will be questioned on 25 September and on 26 September Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor have been called for questioning. Rakul Preet and Simon Khambata have been called yesterday.
According to sources, evidence has been found against these stars asking for drugs, which will be questioned. So far 18 people have been arrested in this case.
Deepika has been called for investigation due to viral WhatsApp chats from October 2017 which is speculated to be between Deepika Padukone and her manager Karishma who works for talent agency Kwan. In the chats, a person called D reportedly says, “…Maal you have.” To which, Karishma replies, “I have but at home. I am at Bandra…” Karishma is then seen saying, “I can ask Amit if you want.”
KWAN talent management agency’s CEO Dhurv Chitgopekar is already summoned by NCB for its connection with the drug nexus. During the investigation, NCB questioned Jaya Saha, who was Sushant’s talent manager, who also works with Kwan. It was from Jaya’s phone that the chats were allegedly recovered.
According to sources from NCB, the evidence are been collected against all the accused. People who were called for investigation, all of there statements are been recorded. Rhea Chakraborty’s statements are also kept ready. NCB has also questioned many drug peddlers.
