Pune: If you have any important work related to banking, which requires a visit to the branch office then you must take notice of this news. Banks will be closed for three consecutive days this week on account of Christmas (December 25), fourth Saturday (December 26) and Sunday (December 27).

Importantly, the last date for filing income tax returns is December 31. Therefore, if any important documents and statements from the bank are needed, you have only two days in the next week December 28 to 30 to collect them.

This can lead to crowding at the branches of banks. Some documents like account statement, interest income certificate, Form 26AAS are required to pay income tax from the bank. Not all customers are savvy with the online options to avail these services and have to visit the physical branch locations for their work,

Banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. This time the fourth Saturday is falling on December 26. And since Sunday is a weekly off, banks will be closed for three consecutive days as it is Christmas on Friday, December 25.
