New Delhi:. Chennai Super Kings, the franchise team of the Indian Premier League, is one of the most successful teams. The team has won the tournament three times so far under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni has announced his retirement from international cricket only last month, so now there is a discussion on who will be the captain of the team after him in the IPL.
After MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina is the most experienced name in the team. He has been associated with the team since the first season. He is being seen as the captain after Dhoni. However, for this season he has withdrawn from the tournament for personal reasons but his relationship with the team has not deteriorated.
The owners of Chennai Super Kings in a statement have said that they consider Raina as their son.
In an interaction with the media, all-rounder Dwayne Bravo said, ‘I know this is going on in their minds. I mean, we all have to leave our game at some point and hand over your responsibility, whether it may be Raina or some other yung talent’.
The speculation was that the next captain of the CSK would have been Siresh Raina. However, he might not be playing this season citing personal reasons.
