Pune: Khadki Cantonment Board Member Manish Anand and six others have been booked in connection with former MLA Harshavardhan Jadhav assault case. The case has been registered at Chatuhshrungi police station on orders of a court after a woman associate of ex-MLA Jadhav had filed a private complaint against the suspects.
The suspects have been identified as Manish Anand, Aman Chaddha, Karan Chaddha, Mamata Chaddha, Ajay Chaddha and two other motorcycle-borne men.
According to the complaint, the complainant had parked her four-wheeler vehicle near Bank of Maharashtra in Aundh on December 14. When she opened the door of the car, Mamata and Ajay Chaddha deliberately came ahead and dashed with the car. They started abusing and molesting the complainant, the complaint application states.
After the initial incident, the complainant reportedly reached Aundh chowk along with Harshvardhan Jadhav. The suspects including Manish Anand came from behind and stopped Jadhav. They started beating him with a rod and also abused him. When the complainant tried to stop them, the suspects forcibly pushed the complainant inside the car and tried to violate her, the complaint application states.
The complainant further states that she had tried to register FIR with Chatuhshrungi police but they did not take cognizance of the complaint and hence she has filed the private complaint in court.
